Life lessons through my camera - Part I

4 years back, It was my dream to view the things around me, viz., the budding roses, settled butterflies, flowing water, waving coconut trees, screaming buffaloes, naughty kids, wrinkles of grandma's.. with camera lenses. I really wondered on several clicks, how a single flash at a microsecond can tell beautiful stories, colorful memories and sometimes life lessons too!

Ofcourse, Photography doesn't mean capturing the beauty of nature or elsewhere, it also hopes for some themes, poetic lyrics, flowery phrases and more often, the life lessons too. For the past 1.5 yrs, photography is getting more familiar with me. Thank you, Gnans Sathish! The cocktail collections of yours is my source of inspiration. Here are some of the life lessons I focused through my camera, Panasonic Lumix.

'How much you earn doesn't decide how much you smile'

#'Roll ur eye balls, nature shows u, how beautiful the world around us is..'

# 'U r being photographed in my eyes, so say CHEEESEEE... :) '

#'When u look the world from window, life resembles greenish.. Open ur doors, only if, u can view its true colors..'

Hoping to bring something good at the next time.. :)

My First Fantasy Story - "Y this Kolaveri?!"

Disclaimer:
All characters in this novel are fictitious. Any resemblance to actual events or locales or persons, living or dead, is entirely coincidental.

It happened on a hot sunny noon, The coimbatore city was busy with its hallmarked heavy traffic and honey couples. A crow was new to the city. It wandered over the city like a pet animal in the zoo. It wondered about the Kongu Tamil slang, amazed on the shoppies and mocked at the people's reaction over mobiles. It settled down in the clock tower of RSPuram and its mouth started watering on the colorful menus at the flex boards of the restaurants. It kindled its appetite too. It tried to pierce through the glass doors of KFC, the multi-cuisine restaurant, which is today's youth's fun time paradise.

It just rolled up its eyeball around at that place. Neither branded shirts nor Olay beauties considered our hero. It planned to steal food from KFC.  It awaited for the chance and make use of a customer's time over phone and sloshed the 'Hot Spicy Wings' away.As he was the star customer, all KFC people ran behind the crow. It settled down at its own place, The clock tower. Everyone started convincing the crow for the Hot Wings. It doesn't get convinced. At that time, an FM channel started screaming on the crow's mischief and it echoed all over the city. People started gathering at that busy square. A guy, who is as smart as a whip, buttered up for its elegance and asked to sing a song for the buzzing crowd. With overwhelming joy, it started blabbering a scansion of all its poorest vocabulary set. Its, "Y this Kolaveri Kolaveri diiiiiiii..".

The song rocked!! It went through the nerves of the clans of TamilNadu and even across the globe. Within a week it has got 1544856 views and 21,900 likes on Youtube. The crow is now the HERO. Special dinner was arranged by our honorable Prime Minister, Chief guest for India-Today 'Mind rocks', IIM guest lecture... It became popular over-a-night.

And I have a doubt now, either Dhanush's voice is like a crow or the crow's voice is like Dhanush??

 Anyways, Enjoy the song,

Soup song, Flop Song,
Why this Kolaveri Kolaveri Kolaveri Di,
Why This Kolaveri Kolaveri Kolaveri Di
Rhythm Correct??!!

Have you Googled today?

Questions are guaranteed in life; answers aren't. But, are you sure about all your questions will have answers? ofcourse, Google will assist you in finding perfect answers for all your queries.

The keyfactor behind our life is 'Searching'.However, the purpose may vary between knowledge, happiness to money. Remember our childhood days, we searched for our grandma's mouth-watering, healthy and variety of spicy recipes, our grandpa's antique collection of coins and books, our mom's perfect selection of dresses and our dad's watches and his mannerisms.

But, think for a while. We can get all these enjoyments at a single click now-a-days. Video demo whatever recipes we want, wide range of entertainment through animation videos, scattered online boutique stores at our desk, experts to guide you, suggestions from unknown persons to uplift better in placements, carrier, job and even in marriages. The spice of life is missing here. Have you ever felt the difference?

Ask our grandmas, she will give us the best recipe along with the short story description of that recipe, which
may be our grandpa's favourite dish, at once. Several interesting stories may come out of the bag about our father's or our aunt's mischievousness. This level of joyness and excitement can't be guaranteed through colorful pictographs or the stylish name of the dishes.

Ask our grandpas, about his antique collection of coins, which may be his first earned penny. A very long description of the jobs he did, the hurdles in digging wells, the pleasure of tasting the fresh water from that well, the dare stories of facing dangerous animals at the night time, strict face of our great grandfathers, their very different life styles, foods, their enjoyments, their play things.. so and so. Their collection of books right from their school hood, shells, sandalwoods, the hanging lunch boxes, the pleasure and pride of describing their own world... Everglowing moments from evergreen memories! It cant be estimated via hall of fames..

Ask our mom, about her desires in suiting us. Till now, only my mom's selection suits me at the best. My mom's art of selecting dresses for me is very interesting. She never believed anyone's suggestions, even the salesgirls, my cousins and even mine to.Each and every collection in my wardrobe will definitely carries any of the interesting stories.. crispy arguments, silly angers.. but they are specially wrapped with my mom's love and pleasure in selecting the perfect match for me. Google may give results, but the best selection can't be estimated by the page ranking algorithm, but from the loved ones, who really care for us.

Ask our dad, how to be a good leader, how to project ourselves best in the society, the decision making ability, efficient supply chain management, problem solving, learn a lot from the unique traits of him. His answers doesn't resemble like the fact, but its really the magic, that will definitely make a difference in ourselves. Have you ever felt this with Google's results? It seems to be that, internet is bringing the whole world at our feet. But, the real fact is, we are becoming a slave. Its very apt to say that Google makes us very lethargic, the very nearest form of intoxication. Lets get out of it. Fire your questions at your fellow beings, not
at Google everytime.

Note: Thank you Google, for bringing out the perfect pictures for this context. :-)

Proud to be a Vellalarian!!

"Vellalar College for Women", My college. Life is like an onion. We can peel off an onion into layers, but we couldn't found anything. The resultant what we get is nothing but tears. Memories are the reason behind these tears. Its definitely not the peppery moments but the loveliest, happiest and evergreen moments.
Yes, Ofcourse, this is the reason for my tears. Memories!!! Am looking forward for 23rd November, 2011. Its my graduation day. I am a B.Sc., graduate of VCW. I am going to breathe the memories with my friends. I am going to live 9 hours in the heaven where I learned what life is, how to compete, the spirit of success, how to be distinct, how to be a leader, how to be a good leader, how to be a good companion, a professional, a good daughter to my parents and a good student too.

Its my auditorium! Where I faced my first interview, where I delivered my first speech, where I anchored to the gathering, where my talents are focused, where the stage decoration was given under my responsibility, where I was crowned as the Vice-President of the college union, where I take the office bearer oath, where I lit the kuthuvilaku inaugurating our student union, hosted the guests, applauding the co-participants.....

Its my Classroom! Our first day introductions, impositions, punishments, ODs, friendshipday and newyear celebrations, birthday treats, fun seminars, bloody CIAs, blackboard decorations, being the class representative, the serious and comedy galattas, the strike, class photographs, sari day, set chudi's, food day, secret friend game.. We explored the extra-ordinary fun here.

Its my staffs! We begged them even for a single mark, we smiled before them shamelessly when we comitted any mistake, shared comments with them, postponed assignment submissions, tests, loved to hear complaint list at the parent's day, realized future by their advice's, succeeded following their suggestions... Salute them all!!!
U07CS096 - Present mam!!

Its my hostel!! Angel's dwellings! My very first hostel life. Our warden mam, Mrs.Jayammal. We enjoyed a grandma's care, grandpa's advice, mom's warmth and dad's love under her protection. And our hostel rooms, Evening dress washers club, The right gals, Smiling Princesses - Its all our gang. Seperate e-mail IDs, distinct slogans, different policies.. FUN=VCW!! New year celebrations, month end movies, RC novels, cards, sleepings, the tiny snacks list, outgoing slips, fun name for menu's, My Mahe (A) Maheshwari, Guha (A) Guha Rama Sharmila and our evergreen friendships, rollcall galattas, silly fights... Owing to rollback to the same life!!

Its my Library! It paves me the way to earn my first penny. I did part-time job here. I enjoyed the dust, lived with barcodes, enjoyed the book fragrance and touched most of all the books, arranged them, sealed them and entried them. Moreover, about 300 books will contain their description in my handwriting. I kissed several books, I missed several books, I loved several books and I lived with them every second, even during my study holidays. I am very grateful to our library in-charges, Mr.Eswaran sir and Mrs. Chitra vadivu mam.

Its my friends! No words to say about them. Hug u all dears! Never want to miss you, my sweet idiots!! Awaiting to see you all with the autographed memories remains in our heart.

How creative are you?

                                                     "Creativity know no boundaries"

In the similar wat, It is most comman to say that "Life is boundless". Have you ever examined or asked yourself, 'How creative I am?'. You may ask, 'Creative? Should am I or How Should I?' Creativity may deals with color or art of thinking or arts and crafts. But, Creativity in life?

Very Creative persons are found as movie makers, apparel designers, interior decors or even a florist in the pavement. Basically, everyone is blessed with the same skills by origin. I object to agree with anyone, 'A born genius'. Geniuses are made, sculptured and mentored. And so comes the great creative activists. Just kindle up the heros/heroines within you. Allow your creative hero to think and act independently. Decor your table with your own quotes, re-arrange them often. My study desk says,'All good things have to become a habit' and 'Silly things matters a lot'.
My Room

Replace conventional styles of greetings. Keep the thing, 'If you are different, You ll get noticed'. Rather to wish 'Happy Birthday', why dont you try, 'May all the force be with you' or atleast a 'Sparkling and Colorful birthday!'.
Design your own T-shirts. I really admired at a guy's T-shirt said, 'She got her looks from her father, He is a plastic surgeon':)
Change your desktop and mobile wall papers and make sure that they must have a special touch made by you.
My Desktop Wallpaper

Surprise your spouse and children by giving them a single flower and wish them a great day ahead.
Gift your friends with a personalized gifts, A calendar with lovely moments, A printed mug or t-shirt or even a single card made by you.
I got such an wonderful gift from my dearest one, Yuvarani Tamilarasan. She collected all the memorable days that made us to come closer and decorate each day with my photo and her own lyric on our friendship. Its not just a booklet, but my treasure of treasures. My new year presentations for my friends, Prabha Selvaraj and Yuvarani Tamilarasan.
A page from Yuva's Gift

Be very informal and lovely with the conversation with your friends. Atleast during texting or mailings.
One of my friend's mails are breath-taking, He  used to ask me,'How is your village green angels, hostel birds and how are the dew drops in your window?
Make your own foto frame to capture and potrait the wonderful moments.

All of these, kids are the treasures in creative aspects. Watch at them, play with them and earn from them too.
Search for colorful pencils, even pens and erasers and touch them with your creativity.

Teach your child to prepare name boards for them. Make them to feel like a grown up one. Explore them to the new world. Make them to choose their own dresses and things. Inculcate them to maintain a minature garden, a lab, an art gallery with their scribbles.

My lovable Prince - Surya Prakasham

Our dynasty comprises of a lovable King ( Sathasivam .K .E), a very affectionate Queen (Gomathi Sathasivam), a little Princess (Me??!!) and a very little Prince (Surya prakasham Sathasivam).

My brother,  Surya Prakasham is doing his 9th std in SSVMHSS, Sivagiri. As all the sisters are saying, " I love my brother ", but I want to say that "I really admired about my brother". I found a good agriculturist, an innovator, a care-taker, a good designer, an excellent interior decorator, hardworker and even a good administrator in him.

Moreover, he is a responsible son to my parents, especially to my mom, a care-taking brother to myself.
Everyday, I used to recollect the lovely moments that we spend together. We used to explore our dreams during frequent powercuts. Laying in a cot, we count the stars, paint the skies, fly through the clouds and build our dream house in the moon.

We started dreaming when Surya wished to buy a cycle to go school, when he stepped into I (First) standard. Our world is extending now with our dream home, Replacing our dad's Honda with Shine, Our mom's XL with Activa and Surya's cycle with a Pulsar or Apache or FZ. Our car dreams began with Zen, grown with Alto, burst out into a Black Swift and ended up with a BMW. At every phase of our dream home, I recognized him as a good Engineer, an excellent future Architect, a good interior decorator and a good economist too.

He has his own garden with colorful flowers, roses, sometimes Paddy, Jute, Cucumber and Water melon. He has his own Tractor and a Bull dozer, that were purchased in our hometown's car festival and re-modelled and re-painted by him. He spoilt many of my poster colors too. :)

When I am working at Iovite, It took 7.30 PM to reach home. He used to welcome me with yummy paniarams, crispy dosas with chocolaty Boost or a hot Bru coffee. His care in applying relief balms for my frequent head-aches and shoulder pains are worthless.

He is the good commentator for me. He suggests me some dresses, "This will suit you more than that, akka". And for ornaments too. He points out the advertisements and the catalogues of famous jewellers and assured me, "I ll definetly buy this for you, and this one for mom".

When I burst out crying over phone to mom during my hostel days (still continuing :( ), He will advise me, " Why are you crying, ka? What happenned, Mom too started crying, Are you a Kid?? Stop crying over phone and try to be matured". He too add this to mom, "Ma, Its better to find a groom in our locality itself, See how kid she is?". Sometimes, he ll be my elder brother too.

He designed his own assembled car, an idea for seed cultivator, harvestor, a solar panel type electricity system, emergency table lamps and so on. Everytime, he surprise my birthdays by giving his own made birthday cards, a wallet designed by him or some funny toys made out of cotton sponges. He play a hide and seek game in giving the gifts for me by collecting the sequence of keynotests from several places.

There is a photo frame in our kitchen, with me & Surya's photo taken during the ages 7 and 1 respectively. But, everytime when I go home and found that the photo was replaced with any of my recent photographs. When I asked the reason, Mom told, "Its your brother's desire. As you are not with us, he wants to keep your photo in the frame". I really melted. I am very happy to have such a brother.

Have you ever heard of a weeping sister after her Just-A-Minute talk about her brother? Yes, She is speaking infront of you, through this blog. I still considers him as my cute little brother. But he is a boy and now becoming half-a-man now. I realized thar, when one of my brothers suggested him to wear Formals during my cousin brother's marriage, an year ago.

I am still enjoying in feeding food for him, combing his hair, smoothing his hair for nice sleep, fighting with him for chocolates, robbing his pens, pensils and sketch pens, argueing for his dress collections, competeting him in eating chapathis and poori's (but usually he wins :) ), presenting him surprise gifts, beating him for guavas and mangoes, making special dishes only for him, assisting him in his assignments, polishing shoes, funny black-mailings so and so..

I have been maintaining his childhood feeding bottle, his school almanac's, his ID cards, his promotion cards, his drawing note, his letters to me when I am in UG and they are my priceless treasures. My heartfelt words to say about my brother , "Treasure of all my Treasures".

I want him to become an IAS/IPS officer. This is one of my compliments dedicated for his 15th birthday on 18th August. May all the force, joy, fun and success be with you, my dear Surya!!!

Yours Everloving Sister,
Ranjani.
